Tara and Diego work so well together, and the chemistry between them is intense! Once I started this book, I just couldn’t stop! This was another amazing installment in the Off the Grid series, and I can’t wait to read the next one!

Joe's book is great as it delves into the background and life events of various ball players and not just limited to the Boston Red Sox. He shares what it was like and what he did behind the mike, away from the studio and interactions with the players, media, and management as well as people in the community. This is great insider history of people I really like to learn about. I collect baseball trading cards. Joe and Doug put the person with the stats on the card. They talk about other stadiums and places they travel to in the baseball world telling about what goes on there outside of the ballgame. These are things I would never be able to do and appreciate learning this part of history that we would never know about outside of this book. This is a great read and is like Joe is talking directly with you as a friend sharing a drink and just talking ball.

This book was awful. I lost this book halfway through and it didn't matter to me. Normally if I lost a book I would go through the house so I could finish it.I'm a big Sox fan and Joe Castiglione is a great broadcaster, but he's not a great author. One star for trying.

About the Author

Generally I like Dr. Dorf's work, but this particular volume is not one of my favorites. It's not really a handbook; it's a broad survey course for sophomore engineering students. There simply is insufficient depth in any one subject for a working engineer to design or simulate a machine or process or structure. I read a few pages everyday and managed to get through the whole book, but I cannot say it was a pleasant experience.Here is a brief list of real handbooks I own which have the necessary depth to use in the real world: 1. Condon's Handbook of Physics 2. Eshbach's Handbook of Engineering Fundamentals 3. Mark's Standard Handbook for Mechanical Engineering 4. Markus Guidebook of Electronic Circuits 5. Potter's Handbook of the Engineering Sciences 6. Tuma's Handbook of Physical Calculations 7. Grigoriev's Handbook of Physical Quantities 8. CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics 9. Allen's Astrophysical Quantities10. Springer Handbook of Condensed Matter and Materials Data11. CRC Concise Encyclopedia of MathematicsAll of these works contain substantially more information per page than The Engineering Handbook.The organization is also somewhat questionable. The math and materials sections are in the back of the book, instead of the front. The chapter on linear systems and models is separated from the chapter on control systems, etc.I don't want to imply that there aren't any worthwhile chapters. I liked the chapter on wind energy...Recommended to sophomore engineering students, not working engineers.

I am an Electronic Engineer, but I have been working for the last 16 years as an Instrumentation, Automation and Process Control Engineer for the Oil & Gas Industry. As a result I have been involved with Chemical and Mechanical Engineering issues in a day to day basic. I found this book to be a helpful reference in those fields and also in other very different fields, like engineering economics and management.I own this book, and for me it was a very good investment.

This handbook is a bunch of articles about several topics in engineering.The collection is impressive, but every article, per se, is too brief to be useful to anyone.

Thank you for the pretty photos, the quick shipping, and the availability of the 2018 calendar in Sept 2017. However, I didn't realize until I received the calendar that the actual calendar pages (the grid of days below the photo for the current month) do not also include the year. The month is there in ALL CAPS, but there is no year. We will just either write in the year, or print out a page of 2018s and glue them onto the calendar pages.Also, the calendar says that it's an 18 month calendar, but the remainder of 2017 is condensed onto 2 pages. Each month is only a quarter of a page. However, each day still has its own box so you can write in any events for any days.I noticed that the photos of the calendar on the Amazon page do include a composite page as the second image. This image shows the photos for the months and also, in the lower right corner, one of the actual calendar pages. As on the actual calendar we received, the calendar page shown does not include the year. This is my bad -- I should have checked the calendar image more carefully before ordering.

Okay, I have to give the author credit. He wasn't a scholar and wrote during a time when 6th grade was higher education. The story isn't as detailed or exciting as many of this biographies but as a first-person account of some of the major events in his life, it's interesting. Of course it omits the Alamo because, well... he didn't survive.

Since he wasn't much of a writer it was a little difficult to read, but on the other hand part of the interest knowing it was in his own words. Amazing to see how he grew up and lived and what things was normal life that today people would think they'd die from. I live in north Alabama and it was real interesting that he mentioned places by name around here and south Tennessee that are the same today!

Was very interested to read about Crockett's life in his own words. Would have preferred the physical size of the book be a bit smaller- being so large kept me from taking it anywhere with me to read, but the cover and paper quality are excellent.

Bought this for my dad for Christmas. He loves it.

I very much enjoyed reading this short book written in the grammar of the era. Informative and fun to picture in your mind the events of the day without any modern insight. A quick and easy read.

My children and I have thorougly enjoyed our reading aloud of "Davy Crockett: His Own Story". Written by Davy himself you feel like you are standing along side this great man of courage, determination, and heroism. We were rivoted by the honoring way this man lived his life. An awesome model for boys to emulate!
