Another great story in this wonderful series. The strong friendships lead to a good support system for Diego in his search for his mother and brother. He gets so close, but finds his mother is gone and no idea where his brother might be. Following a lead that puts him in danger along with Tara who is searching for her missing best friend leads them on a journey taking them from Columbia back to the USA. Getting shot at, an attempted kidnapping, a plane crash, and finally getting back to California and the support of his friends and fellow agents leads both Diego and Tara to finding what they were looking for, solves a mystery that has been plaguing this group of friends, and brings them to a love they never expected to find.

Diego Rivera is an FBI agent who just finished an assignment and is taking a few days to look into a tip he was given. He was told to talk to a priest in Columbia who might have some information on the location of his missing mother and brother who he’s been searching for for 18 years now. When he arrives at the church however, the priest is already in what looks like a heated discussion with a woman. When he finally gets to talk to the priest, the priest tells him he’ll talk to him after the service. Unfortunately for Diego, he doesn’t get that chance. Gunfire breaks out during the service and the priest is shot. Diego is standing beside the woman who’d been talking to the priest so he grabs her hand and takes off running.Tara is a high school Spanish teacher who is searching for her best friend, Bethany. No one seems to think Bethany is actually missing because she likes to just take off on a whim, but Tara knows something is wrong. She had talked to a priest who said to come back the next day and he’d tell her what he knew, but the next day, he says he can’t help her. She goes inside the church, hoping to try talking to the priest after the service, but doesn’t get that chance. When the gunfire goes off, killing the priest, a man grabs her hand and tells her to run. After getting a safe distance away, she finds out the man who saved her is Diego. She doesn’t know much about him, but after explaining why she’s there, Diego agrees to help her find Bethany.I loved all the twists and turns in this book. The characters are thrown into life threatening situations over and over again but because of their trust in each other, they always make it out alive. Tara and Diego work so well together, and the chemistry between them is intense! Once I started this book, I just couldn’t stop! This was another amazing installment in the Off the Grid series, and I can’t wait to read the next one!
Diego Rivera is taking a few personal days in Columbia searching for the Mother and brother who disappeared from his life many years ago. He plans to meet and talk to the village priest in hope that he can shed some light into his Mother’s whereabout.Tara Powell is also in Columbia. Working together, at least for a while, seems the only option. And Diego is more than willing to help the beautiful woman. Slowly their searches start to flow together. It seems there is a common thread in both searches, a man named Michael, or Mateo, as Diego once know him, his brother. But just who has his brother become? A man working for the cartel, or a successful business man who Tara’s friend has fallen in love with?But there is more at play then Tara’s missing friend and Diego’s lost family. There is a shadowy figure hiding behind the scenes, pulling the strings. The whole team will come together to get to the bottom of their mysterious enemy.
